Wendy-Ann Smith

Pamela Larde

Wendy-Ann Smith is a coaching psychologist, executive coach, researcher, educator, and author whose work explores ethical development, professional identity, human flourishing, and the development of the person within professional practice.

A registered psychologist in Australia and France and Chartered Psychologist in Coaching Psychology in the UK, Wendy-Ann has more than two decades of experience across coaching, psychology, education, research, and professional development. An early contributor to the integration of positive psychology and coaching psychology, her work now sits at the intersection of applied ethics, moral psychology, coaching psychology, and positive psychology, where she is advancing the emerging domain of developmental ethicality.

She is the founder of Ethics Forum International and architect of its global ethics ecosystem, which brings together scholarship, education, professional dialogue, publishing, and recognition through the Coaching Ethics Forum, Academy of Ethicality, Journal of Coaching Ethics, Ethical EDGE Insights, Ethics Beyond the Code™ programmes, and Champions of Courage Awards. She serves as Executive Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Coaching Ethics and Ethical EDGE Insights.

Wendy-Ann is the lead editor of three books spanning positive psychology coaching, ethical development, and coach development: Positive Psychology Coaching in the Workplace (2021), The Ethical Coaches’ Handbook: A Guide to Developing Ethical Maturity in Practice (2023), and Ethical Case Studies for Coach Development and Practice (2024).

Across her work, Wendy-Ann is particularly interested in moving beyond professional practice as the application of techniques, competencies, and codes to explore the development of the person who practises. Her research, writing, education, and international dialogues examine how identity, experience, reflection, relationship, judgement, and courage shape who we become as practitioners—and how greater ethical capability and self-understanding can contribute to more intentional, humane, and flourishing professional practice.
